Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

I didn't do my leg weight exercises today because I had to meet with a financial advisor after work.  Leslie and I rode our bikes at about 4:30.  We rode down Parkway Palisades along the trail north to the end and then turned around and came came.  On the way back when we got off the trail and started to ride I noticed that my back tire was flat.  I used my co2 canister but it didn't fill the tire so we called Kent to rescue us.  By the time be got home it was 5:30 and almost dark.  Wow it gets dark early.

Met the BBK's at the SJ Library for the early miles.  We ran a course around the block, up to the light on redwoodd and 104th and back down past the library to the end of the road and back to the Library.  There were 6 of us for the early miles but for the later miles there were about 20 people including Leslie.  She actually made it on time.  Duke, Leslie amd I were towards the back on the same route only this time we ran through Wyngate and then out and then we turned  off 104th towards the library, passed the library and headed back down the road towards 13th west again.  Then I had to leave and the group was headed towards Shellbrook.  After work I did my leg weight exercises along with stomach and 70 men's pushups.

Leslie and I rode our bikes this afternoon.  I tried to fix my flat and spent hours and then took my tire to a bike shop and they fixed it in 5 minutes.  They put a new tire on that should be more thorn resistent.  We rode our usual course down Parkway Palisades.  Boy it gets dark early.

Met the BBK's at the Park Trail off 126th for the early miles.  There were about 6 of us there.  I was glad I had my headlight because it was very dark.  We went north along the trail to the Bridge they are building over the river.  It was about 1.6 miles out.  When we got back the rest of the group was there and we took off going the other direction.  There were probably about 20 people there.  I was going to turn around at 1.5 miles but I ended up going about 2.5 miles before I turned around.  After work I met Leslie at Gene Fullmer fitness to swim.  We swam for about 45 minutes.  Leslie is sure a good swimmer and I'm getting a little better.

This morning Duke and I drove to Leslie's, then we ran from her house to 40th west and went south to 118th south and then east to redwood road, then we turned north and ran to 114th and then east to my house.  Chrissy met us at my house and after we took off our warm stuff we turned around and headed back the same way.  Leslie took Duke both directions.  On the way down she went slow for me and on the way back she took off and Chrissy went slow with me.  Chrissy discovered that as long as she runs very slow her knee won't hurt.  I had a good time visiting with Leslie on the way down and Chrissy on the way back.  The way back was a lot harder because it was all up hill.  I saw Alan Ford on the way back to Leslie's just past the hill from the temple.  He was running the other direction and said "Hi".  I was very tired after our run but I made it the whole way without walking.  We ran a total of 10 miles.
