Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

I did my leg weight exercises along with my stomach exercises and 80 mens pushups.  I was going to swim this afternoon, but I ended up taking Duke to get his shots instead.  Our whole family is going to Yellowstone on Thursday and Duke has to go to the Petsmart Dog Hotel.  Duke needed his shots before he could stay at the Dog Hotel.  I will try to swim tomorrow.

Met the group at Parkway Palisades.  We ran up and down the big hill a couple of times, we did strides, ran the two mile loop and then did some more strides.  I made it the whole hour and with Duke pulling me and I wasn't quite as tired as usual.  Leslie and I rode our bikes after she got off work.  We rode down Redwood to the Crystal Cove turnoff, rode past Crystal Cove and past Wingate Condos and turned down 10750 and rode down to 13th west.  When we got to 13th west we remembered about the rode construction and turned around and went back the same way.  Leslie thought she had forgotten her phone and she was on call for work so we did a very small ride.  (about 3 miles)  She was also worried about me going too far because I had just donated blood.

I met the bunners at the SJ Rec center and we rode our usual route.  It was good to see Cherl for the first time as a bunner.  We actually had all bunners today.  The ride got me a lot more tired today than usual because I donated blood yesterday.  In fact when I got home I started feeling light headed and almost passed out.  I tried to take it a little easier today and decided not to go to our Triathlon class tonight.  I've been busy shopping and packing for our trip to yellowstone.  All of our kids and grandkids except my oldest daughter and her family will be there.  My oldest daughter's  in-laws are visiting from Argentina so she are her family aren't coming to yellowstone.

Met the group at Bingham for the early miles.  We had a good run through a subdivision then across redwood behind the SJ Library, down to 1300 and up to Y worry Lane and then back to Bingham.  I was tired and glad I was only doing the early miles.  Then I went home and finished packing for Yellowstone.

I didn't do any running or biking on our trip to Yellowstone, but I did do quite a bit of walking.  We had a very fun time and saw a lot of scenery.  We saw Elk, Buffalo, Deer, Antelope, a cayote, and a fox but we didn't see a bear.    It was especially fun to spend the time with my husband, kids and grandkids.  On our way home we went to Virginia City and looked through all the buildings in the Old Ghost town and all the souvenir shops.  We had a very fun time.  I ate plenty of junk so next week after I get back from my sister's getaway I'll really need to get back into exercising.
