Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

I did my leg weight exercises along with stomach and 70 pushups.  I cleaned and tended Sicily my youngest granddaughter(1 Yr old) and then took a short nap and went swimming.  I did 30 laps front crawl with a 1 minute break after lap 10 and after lap 20.  I discovered that when I breath out of  my mouth instead of my nose like a do when I run it gets me less out of breath and I am able to go farther.  After dinner we went to visit Bryan our son-in-law for his Birthday.

I met the group at Parkway Palisades.  We ran up and down the big hill three times.  I was dead on the first time but I kept going and made it all three.  When the group did their next run Debbie and I ran along the parkway trail.  She went slow for me.  We had a very nice visit.  I really appreciate her going slow because I was dead.  I made it six miles and it felt more like 12.   After dinner Leslie and I rode our bikes on the Prison loop trail.  It was a hard ride and we made it in 59 minutes.(16.5 miles)

Dean, Michelle and I were the only bunners again today.  We did our usual course and finished in less than an hour.  Dean and Michelle are a lot faster than I am on the up hill, but I usually catch up on the straight and downhill.  Tonight Leslie and I are going to our Triathlon class.

I met the BBK's at Bingham for our run.  We ran down 2200 west and up a street in the subdivision up to 2700, down 2700 to Canterwood, down Canterwood to 2200, down 2200 to Rustic Road, up rustic road to 2700, down 2700 to Bridal Oaks Drive and down Bridal Oaks drive to 2200 and back to Bingham.  It is really hard for me to understand why running gets me so tired now.  I had Duke pulling me and I still had to go very slow and I even had to stop and walk twice.  But I did keep going and I made it the 6 miles.  Most of the group did horseshoe circle and another circle to make it 6 1/2, but 6 was more than plenty for me.  After I got home my husband made me breakfast and then I showered and cleaned the house, then Leslie and I got connect passes and went down town.  We walked around the gateway, went to Clark Planetarium, to the Lion House Pantry for lunch and then to Red Butte Gardens.  The passes were only $20 and they were good for about 10 different activities including a $10 lunch at the Lion House Pantry.  The lunch was very good.  Tomorrow we will use the pass to go to Thanksgiving Point and the Living Planet Aquarium.  After we came home and had naps Leslie and I went on a bike ride.  We rode down Redwood to 118th and all the way up 118th almost to Highway 111.  Then we turned around and came back.  It was a good ride.

I did my arm weight exercises this morning and then after I cleaned the house Leslie and I went to Thanksgiving Point Gardens with our connect pass.  It was very beautiful but the funnest part was at the pond where there were tons of big fish with their mouths open waiting to be fed.  We didn't bring any quarters but another person did so we watched her feed the fish.  After lunch we picked up Anna and Alex(Chrissy's kids) and took them to The Living Planet Aquarium.  It was fun.  The best part was petting the Manterays.  Then I went to cub scouts took a short nap and then Leslie took Kent and I to Rodezio's.  It was very good too.

I went to our Triathlon class without Leslie today.  She was tending her friends little boy while she ran a 5K and then helping Chrissy's kids run a 1K.  The class was indoors because it was rainy.  We swam for 40 minutes, rode the spinning bike 40 minutes and then ran on the treadmills.  Boy to I hate running on treadmills.  Anyway I survived the class and now I need to do some cleaning.
