Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

 

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

MS 100 Mile Bike ride finished in 7 hours

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running, biking, swimming and stay fit until I'm 100 years old

Personal:

I'm married, have 8 kids (7 daughters and one son) and 28 grandkids. I have a great supportive husband.  The grandsons and grand daughters are now tied at 14.  I have 2 grand daughters married and one going on a mission to Australia.

This morning since I didn't have to work I took Duke on the 3 mile run and then did my leg weight/stomach exercises.  I also did 50 mens pushups, took a 30 second break and did 25 more.  I don't know why I can't do 75 straight anymore.  The run with Duke was nice and cool with a slight rainy drizzle.  We both had a good time.Then I did a lot of cleaning, had lunch and took a nap.  Then my daughter Rebecca came over and wanted me to run with her so I ran 1.5 miles with her on the parkway.  Then I went visiting teaching.  Tonight for family night we are going to see the movie "Soul Surfer."  One of my daughters and her family saw it last week and thought it was very good.

I met the group at the SJ soccer fields for the early miles.  I started off early and went to the left on our usual 5K course.  I made it to the end before anyone caught up to me.  For the next part we did a 2 mile course through canterwood and then up to 2700 and down Rustic Road.  Then I had to leave so I could get home in time to make breakfast for my husband for his birthday.  After dinner tonight we had a sod laying party for my husbands birthday.  Then we had strawberry cream cheese pie for dessert.  It was good.

I ran my usual 3 mile course with Duke early this morning before work.  Then after work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises.

Met the group for the early miles at Riverton High School.  We ran north on 2700 down to 118th and then up to 3200 west and over and back.  Eric went slow with me and I had a nice visit.  Then we met the others and ran another short course through the subdivision and then out to 126th and back to Riverton.  Then we did a 1 mile out and back course and then another 1/2 mile cool down and then another 1 mile out and back course.  It was a good run.
