Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

Leslie and I went to Blackridge Reservoir to swim after dinner.  We put on our wetsuits and got in the water.  It was soo cold we decided not to swim.  I guess we will be swimming in the pool until next spring.  Then I came home and did my leg weight, stomach exercises and pushups.

I went early to running group since they weren't meeting until 6 and I had to be to work at 7.  Duke and I jogged around the parking lot and down 2200 to bonanza and then back.  Then we ran with the group over to Rustic Roads and back down to 2200 and then down 2200 to Canterberry and then Duke and I ran back to the school.  After work Leslie and I rode our bikes down Redwood to 10750 S and turned east past Crystal Cove and Wyngate and the East to 1300 West and south to Parkway Palisades and then onto the parkway trail going north.  We followed it until it ended 1 mile past 9800 and then rode back up to Parkway Palisades and home.

I did my arm weight exercises after work.  Leslie wanted to swim tonight but I decided that I was too lazy.

This morning Duke and I went to Leslie's to jog.  We went from her house to 40th West north to 90th South and then back.  It was very cool this morning so I wore my warm stuff.  I took my headband, gloves and arm warmers off on the way back.  It was a good run.

Duke and I drove to Leslie's to run this morning.  I thought it was going to be cold so I wore my long lycra, t-shirt and gloves, ear band and arm warmers.  I had to take them all off by the time we were out of Leslie's neighborhood and the whole time I was wishing I was in shorts and a t-shirt.  We jogged on 40th west to 106th and then up to Daybreak Lake.  We jogged around the whole lake and then back over to 106th down to 40th west and north to Leslie's neighborhood.  Leslie held onto Duke until she biffed it just when we were getting to the Lake.  Then her hands and knees were skinned up so I held Duke the rest of the way.  I was a little more tired today than sometimes.  It might be because we have lots of relatives visiting.  Kent's sister, husband and son are here from Arizona are staying with us and also my daughter Bridget and her baby.  We had almost our whole family over last night for dinner.  I used my gift certificate to Tio's Mexican restaurant and got $127.00 of food.  Now I have $83 left to use.  Today we had everyone over again to celebrate Bridget's Birthday.  It's hard to believe that my baby is now 24 years old and pregnant with her second baby.  It's been a good day but I am tired.
