Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

After work I did my leg weight exercises along with stomach exercises and 70 men's pushups.  After dinner Leslie and I went swimming at Black Ridge reservoir.  Boy was it cold.  I only went back and forth one time because my goggles kept leaking.  I switched goggles and they leaked too so I just swam backstroke along the edge while Leslie and Erin swam across a second time.  I can tell fall is in the air because it was very cold when we got out of the water.

I ran with Duke and Becca at 5am this morning but I only went 2 miles because I had to be to work at 6am.  I'm not riding bikes after dinner tonight because I have Cub Scout Pack Meeting and then Kent and I are going to the temple.

Today I took the day off work so I could go to grandparents day with two of my grandchildren.  I actually slept in until 5:45 and then got up and made breakfast.  Then I did my arm weight exercises and took Duke for a walk.  Then I cleaned the house and went to grandparents day.  It was fun and Rachel and Caleb were excited to see me.

I had to be to work at 6am this morning so I ran 3 miles at 5am with Duke.  I ran down Redwood to 104th South and back.  Then I cleaned up and went to work.  After dinner Leslie and I rode bikes.  We rode north on Redwood to the Park and turned right past Crystal Cove and north past Wyngate and then east to 13th West and then to Parkway Palisade and along the Parkway trail north to the end and turned around and came back.  It was a good ride and the big hill was very tiring but a good workout.

Leslie, Duke and I ran the Temple to Temple Steeple Chase this morning.  There were lots of people from the running group there and lots of other nice people.  Duke and I started out in front and kept a pretty good pace.  It was cool and downhill and with Duke pulling me I was able to go faster than usual.  I was ahead of Leslie until we got to 9800 South and She passed me up.  I could still see her until the end but didn't catch her.  I finished in 43 minutes which is quite fast for me.  After we drank some water and ate a creamy we walked to 104th and then ran the rest of the way home.  I really like the finisher medals we got with the Angel Moroni on it.
