Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Long-Term Running Goals:

I did my arm weight exercises and then I picked plums.  Then I cleaned the house and took a bath.  Then I went to lunch with two of my sisters.  We went to Olive Garden and it was good.   After lunch my daughter Bridget and her husband Glenn and baby Sicily were at my house to I had a fun time visiting and playing with Sicily.  When they left I took a short nap and then cleaned more.  After dinner Leslie and I went to swim in the Blackcreek Reservoir.  The first time across my wetsuit came unzipped.  Leslie zipped it back up for me and we headed back across.  It didn't stay zipped so it was harder to swim with water coming in.  When I got to the other side Leslie zipped me up again and I decided to stay closer to the shore.  It's a good thing I did because it came unzipped again.   I don't know why it keeps coming unzipped because it didn't come unzipped once on Saturday.

Met the BBK's at the church on 124th and 1100 W.  Duke and I took it slow down the hill and then kept uip with Peggy, Lisa, Mike and Dean until Duke decided he needed to pee at every bush.  After that we didn't catch back up but we kept plodding along.  I was tired but not as dead as a few weeks ago.  Tonight Leslie and I will ride our bikes before I go to Pack Meeting and Visiting teaching.

My first day back to work.  I made it through but it was hard getting used to being back to work.  After work I went visiting teaching, took a short nap and then did my leg weight and stomach exercises and also 75 pushups.  Leslie and I were going to go to our Swim clinic at the Blackcreek Reservoir but Leslie bought some patio furniture at Lowes and by the time we picked it up it was too late.

I met the BBK's at the church on 101st South and 40th West.  We started west on the road just north of the church and ran about half way up the hill and then turned south.  We ran across 106th and ran around through Daybreak and past the temple and turned around and headed back.  After we got back we met the group and started south on 40th West.  We crossed 106th and headed towards the temple.  Then one of our Iron men I'm not sure if it was John or Kevin because I can't remember which one is which twisted his anke and fell.  Lisa and I both volunteered to go back and get our cars, but Lisa decided she lived closer so we both jogged back to our cars and she went to pick him up.  I had to be to work by 7 so I headed home.  Duke really enjoyed the run and so did I.  The last few times I've run I really feel a lot better and enjoy running.  For awhile when I was really tired I didn't even like running.  Tonight Leslie and I rode our bikes on the Prison loop.  It's a 16.5 mile ride and we did it in an hour.  I could have gone faster but Leslie was very tired because she hadn't eaten anything since lunch.  My husband made a green apple pie that was so deliscious, I had a piece for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I didn't do any exercise today.  I had to be to work at 6am and worked until 2pm.  Then I took a short nap and went to the temple.  Then Kent and I went to Red Robyn for dinner and then we helped Leslie put her patio furniture together.

Leslie and I went to our Triathlon class.  Today was the last time the class will be held at the South County Pool until next summer.  We swam 1000 meters and then we rode our bikes.  We rode south on 13th west to 134th and then went west to Redwood road.  Then we rode north to 98th and turned east and rode to 13th west.  Then we rode down 13th west back to South County Pool.  Just after I passed 106th on 13th West Leslie told me my tire was going flat.  I kept riding to 114th and turned down our street and came home while she and the rest of the people rode to the pool.  I picked up the car and Duke and drove to the pool.  Then we did our 3 mile run from the pool down to the parkway trail and back.  I wasn't as tired as I have been for a while.  I was even able to run the whole way up the big hill at the end.
