Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

2010

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

Wow it's June already.  Today after work and a nap I did my arm weight exercises.  After dinner I met Leslie at the Pool.  We were both tired.  I made it 10 laps front crawl and then took a break.  Then I swam 4 laps.  Leslie decided that she was tired and since I was tired I decided 14 laps was good enough.

I met the BBK's for the early run at Bingham. There were 11 people there and it was a nice run and visit. I stayed for the 1 mile warmup while they were waiting for the track to open. Then I left to go to work. I was very tired after the 4 miles. Leslie came over for dinner but was too tired to ride bikes.

Met the bunners at the South Jordan Rec Center.  Amy Scharman was there and it was really nice to see her again.  Her knee is getting better, but it's not well enough to jog.  We rode our same route and I turned off on 98th S. and 2700 west and went straight to work.  It was a fun ride.  After dinner I did my leg weight exercises along with my stomach exercises and 80 mens pushups.

Met the group at the Tithing Hill church for the early miles.  It was a nice run down the hill, along the trail, through the subdivision and back up the hill.  I was very tired so I guess it was a good thing I had to be to work at 6/

Hoorah!! My last day at work.  We cleaned for 6 hours straight and now my arms are very tired.  The PTA provided lunch for the staff and faculty.  They brought in Olive Garden and boy do I love Olive Garden.

Leslie and I went to our Triathlon Class.  We thought it was at the South County Pool, but when we got there no one was there so we went to  Marv Jenson and it was there.  I didn't mind being a few minutes late for the swimming.  The first half of the swimming was hard, but the second half seemed a little easieer.  We then rode our bike down redwood to 11400 South and then west to 2700 W and then northe to 98th S and then west back to redwood and south the Marv's.  The ride was very easy and I didn't even get my heart rate up.  Then we ran down the canal road to 90th South and back.  The run did get me tired.  I'm so used to Duke pulling me, that running alone is hard now.
