Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

I didn't do any exrcise today.  After work I went to my Sister's house for our sister's luncheon.  It was a lot of fun.  My stepmother, stepsister and 4 of my sisters were there.  The lunch was good and I had a fun time visiting.  When I got home I cleaned, made dinner for my husband and made a cake for his Birthday.  Most of our family came over after dinner to celebrate Kent's Birthday.  His Birthday was really Sunday, but we didn't get home from Arizona until 12pm.

Today I went to running group for the first time in 3 weeks.  I was able to run 2.5 miles and it only hurt slightly. I ran very slow and was very careful because I didn't want to make my muscle worse.  Duke was very nice and didn't pull too much.  After work I took a short nap and rode my bike.  I would have gone 9 miles, but at about mile 8 I ran over a small rock and popped my back tire.  My husband came and rescued my.

Did my leg weight and stomach exercises along with 75 men's pushups.  This is the first time since my injury that I was able to use my heavier weights and do the whole workout.  I went swimming after dinner, but Leslie was sick so I went without her.  Without Leslie there I lacked motivation and only made it 10 laps with lots of breaks.  After watching amazing race this week I don't feel too bad about my swimming.  Most of them had a hard time making 1 lap.

Met the BBK's at 5:15 for the early miles.  Duke and I kept up with the  group for most of the 3 miles and it only hurt for a few steps.  I only went 2 miles during the second part, but that makes 5 miles for the day the most I've run since the Riverton 1/2.  After work I took a nap and rode my bike 9 miles.  It took me 40 minutes.  Tonight Kent and I are going out for our Anniversary.  We have been married 38 years now and he is the best husband in the world.  Last time I rode my bike I popped my tire and today when I got home he had fixed my bike tire for the third time.

After work I went to visit Dr. Toronto.  He said my hamstring was almost better and the pain in my hip was Bursitis.  He said my hip was doing a lot better and if I kept taking relafin and stretching I could run my 10 mile run tomorrow.

My daughter Jenny came down from Idaho for my other daughters baby blessing, so she and I got up early and ran 10 miles.  We brought Duke with us.  It was cool and a light mist was falling, but it was the perfect running weather.  We ran down 13th west down the S curve and under Bangerter and went to Bluffdale and then turned around.  It was a good run and I  had fun visiting with Jenny.  Duke was very good.  We let him off his leash when we met up with another lady who was running with her dog off its leash.  Duke really had fun playing with it.  The other lady was 64 years old and was faster than me.  She said when she was 40 she won the St. George Marathon overall the women.  My leg didn't hurt and I wasn't dead at the end.  We ran it in 1hour and 32minutes.  After I showered and ate a bowl of cereal I drove to Jordan Landing to tend Christine's kids while she and Dan ran a race.  It was a 5K and Christine won 2nd place overall.   Walter from our running group won 1st place overall.   Then she ran the 1 mile kids race.  Walter's daugher won first place out of the kids and Rachel, Christine's daughter won 2nd place.
