Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

I skipped my regular exercise and went to help Leslie dig out some of her grass to make a flower bed.  It was a lot of work and we got plenty of exercise.

Tried to jog again with Leslie this morning.  She took Duke.  I went about 50 yards and decided that since my leg was still hurting I would be better not to run.  I walked while Leslie and Duke ran.  She is coming over tonight so we can ride bikes.  I have another appointment with Dr. Toronto but it's not until May 1st.

I did my arm weight exericses and then after dinner Leslie and I swam. My leg hurt just a little. I swam 10 laps front crawl before I had to take a break. Then a had to take a break every 3 laps, but I made it 20 laps front crawl. She went 25 laps front crawl with no breaks. She was going to a move with friends so she didn't swim as many laps as she usually does. She is coming to take Duke for a run in the morning and then after work we are going on a long bike ride.

Leslie came and got Duke this morning and ran 4 miles with him.  Leslie and I rode our bikes about 12 miles along the Parkway Trail.  We rode from our house on 11400 down to 1300 W. and south to Clover Ridge.  We rode through the subdivision south up the big hill and down tithing hill to the Parkway Trail. We rode along the Parkway Trail to Bluffdale and then back again.  Leslie didn't crash today, but I had to stop and wait for her a few time.  I was able to peddle up all the hills without stopping.  I decided that biking comes natural to me just like swimming does for Leslie.  It took us about an hour, but I spent at least 10 minutes waiting for Leslie.  She was very tired afterwards but it didn't get me tired.  Tomorrow after work Kent and I are flying to Arizona for the weekend so I probably won't get much exercise in.  Kent's sister is dying of cancer and we want to see her one last time.  We will stay wit my sister that lives in Mesa Arizona and then drive 3 hours to Young Arizona to visit his sister. Leslie and Chrissy will come get Duke on Saturday and take him on their long run.

I'm at my sister's house in Mesa, Arizona. I used her exercise bike for 20 minutes and then I did my 70 men's pushups. It was quite an easy workout, but I'm on vacation.
