Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

This morning I did my arm weight exercises.  I called Leslie and told her she should come ride bikes today since it is suppose to snow tomorrow and Wednesday.  We rode about 8 miles and she only biffed it once.  Actually she didn't fall down all the way she just bumped the wall going under 106th.  She did a lot better now that her seat is adjusted and she has figured out her clip in shoes.  I only beat her by a small amount.  Tonight we swam and I must have been tired because I didn't do as well as Saturday.  I swam 5 laps fron crawl and had to take a short break.  Then I did 2 back crawl and another front crawl.

I tried to run this morning with Leslie.  She took Duke.  It hurt a little bit and I felt Like I was dragging my leg.  I was very slow.  My leg hurt off and on the rest of the day.  I guess I'll have to be happy with biking and swimming for a while.

My leg has been hurting quite a bit since I tried to jog yesterday.  Today I did my stomach exercises, pushups and a very light version of my leg weights.  Instead of holding 15lb. weights in each had I held 2lb. weights and did a very light workout.  It didn't hurt too much.  We decided to skip swimming.

I walked along the parkway with Duke while Becca ran. I let Duke off his leash so he could run. He ran and caught up with Becca and then he would run back to me. Walking didn't hurt unless I tried to walk fast, so I took it slow. When we got home I used the Eliptical for 15 minutes, the glider for 10 and the bike for 8. It's not fun like jogging is, but I guess it will have to do for now.

I tended Chrissy's kids this morning so she and Leslie could jog.  They took Duke with them.  Chrissy's husband was gone camping with the scouts.  They went 8 miles.  Then Leslie and I rode our bikes.  We went 8 miles and Leslie didn't even crash.
