Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

Met the group at Bingham but didn't go early because I didn't want to over due my pulled muscle.  Jenny (My third oldes daughter) was visiting from Idaho so she came too.  We had a good time running up and down Rustic Road and then down 2700 to Bonanza and down to Temple View.  Jenny really enjoyed running with the group and wished she lived close enough to come all the time.  I'm glad I have the group to run with.

After work and a short nap I did my leg weight exercises along with my stomach exercises and 70 men's pushups.  My muscle didn't even hurt.  After dinner Leslie and I swam laps.  She swam 40 laps with no break and I swam 20 laps front crawl and 2 laps side stroke with tons of breaks.  I can't believe how taking two weeks off from swimming makes it feel like I've never even done laps before.  I hope if I keep it up it will get easier.  It didn't bother Leslie at all to take two weeks off.

Met the group at Parkway Palisades at 5:15. I took it easy and only went up and around the 2 mile hill loop once. Then I jogged back and forth along the straight part. I want to make sure I don't reinjure my pulled muscle before I run the Riverton 1/2 Marathon. After work and a short nap a rode 4 miles on my bike. The weather was beautiful and I enjoyed the ride.

Leslie, Chrissy and I went to our Triathlon Class.  It was just as hard as usual.  We swam 40 minutes, biked 40 minutes and then instead of running on the treadmill we ran on the canal road.  By the time we ran I was pretty tired, but it was sure a lot nicer to jog outside.  Leslie wants to do a Triathlon on April 18th.  I don't know if I'll be ready, but I will do it with her anyway.  The swim is indoors and is only 350 meters, so maybe it won't kill me. I saw Khis Bullock when I was crossing the canal road on 98th.  She was going 16 miles.
