Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

After work, visiting teaching and a small rest I did my arm weight exercises then I did some shopping, cleaning, made dinner and went swimming.  I did 20 laps all front crawl with a lot breaks in between.  Leslie did 30 laps with almost no breaks.

Met the BBK's at the Jordan Parkway below tithing hill.  We ran our early 3 miles along the parkway and through the neighborhood.  On the way down tithing hill I stumbled and pulled my pyriformis muscle and had to quit early.  I've pulled that muscle several times.  Had a good time visiting with Rachel, Kelly and others.  Hope to feel well enough to jog on Thursday.

Wednesday after work and a short nap I did my leg weight exercises, stomach exercises and 70 mens pushups.  Then at 6pm Leslie and I swam.  I made it 20 laps all front crawl with breaks in between but not as many breaks as last week.  Leslie made it 30 laps all front crawl with no breaks.

Met the BBK's at Parkway Palisades but didn't go early because  was worried that I would make my pulled muscle worse if I jogged too far.  We ran along the parkway and didn't do hills, so my muscle didn't hurt at all.  It helps that I have been taking relafin twice a day since I pulled my muscle.  Tomorrow morning my husband and I are going to St. George for the weekend.  We have some friends that are retired and live in St. George in the winter and Fish Lake in the summer.  They like us to come visit and we really enjoy the break.

Drove to St. George with my husband.  Relaxed, went to an Art Gallery, went to dinner, and watched a movie with our friends.  Then we talked and went to bed.

My friend and her husband had to go to a funeral this morning, so I jogged by my self.  It was very beautiful.  They live in Ivins and their street leads uphill to a large red mountain.  It is very beautiful.  I ran about 2.5 miles uphill and then the rest of the way downhill.  The downhill was sure a lot easier than the uphill, the scenery was beautiful and I saw several rabbits and lizards.
