Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

It was great to have the day off for President's day.  Jenny and her family were down visiting from Idaho.  Jenny, Leslie, Chrissy, Duke and I ran 10 miles.  It was a lot of fun running with my daughters.   I don't get to jog with Jenny very often.

My second oldest daughter was in labor, so I took her kids and we along with Jenny and her kids, Chrissy and her kids and Leslie went to El Farol for lunch.  There were 16 of us all together with 4 adults and 12 kids.  We had a good lunch and a lot of fun.  The kids were all pretty well behaved.

Ralphie(real name Angie) had a baby boy at 4:30 this afternoon.  He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 21 inches long.  He is my 23rd grandchild and they are naming him Jake Bryon.

I woke up at about 4:15 this morning and heard the rain pounding on the window so I decided that if I went early to running group I would be the only one there.  To my surprise, when I got to running group at 5:45 there were about 18 people that came early, and I was the only one that came late.  I can't believe how tough all the runners in our group are.  It was prettty snowy and windy, but it didn't stop the BBK's from working out.

I did my arm weight exercises after work and then after dinner I swam laps at the pool.  I made it 20 laps all front crawl with a lot of breaks.  Boy is swimming hard.  I would rather run 10 miles than swim one.  Leslie made it 40 laps without many breaks.  She is a lot better swimmer than I am.

Met our group at Bingham High.  The weather was very nice today.  I actually got hot part of the time.  We sure have a nice big group.  It was nice to visit with everyone.  Duke and I were at the front for the first 3 miles, but by the end of the 10 miles we were at the very back and very tired.  I wouldn't have made it without Duke pulling me.

Leslie and I went to our Triathlon class again.  The swimming and biking were killers, but the running felt great.  I had to leave 15 minutes early to take my son back to the ER.
