Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

2010

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Riverton 10K

Hobblecreek 1/2 Marathon

Vikingman Triathlon

MS 100 Mile Bike ride finished in 7 hours

2016

Terrain Run with son and daughter.  It was fun but very muddy

August 25 Triathamom with my daugter Christine

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running, biking, swimming and stay fit until I'm 100 years old

Personal:

I'm married, have 8 kids (7 daughters and one son) and 28 grandkids. I have a great supportive husband.  The grandsons and grand daughters are now tied at 14.  I have 2 grand daughters married and one going on a mission to Australia.

I had an enjoyable time at the Ogden Marathon for the most part. Chrissy, Leslie, Angie, Becca and I drove to Ogden Friday afternoon. Jenny met us there. We stayed at the Hampton Inn. It was a very nice hotel. Bridget, my youngest daughter met us at our hotel with her baby Sicily. We had and fun time. We ate dinner at the Olive Garden and then went back to our hotel to relax. I really thought it was great to have 6 of my 7 daughers there. We got up at 4:30 and caught the bus to the Half-Marathon. When we got to the bonfire, the first person I saw was Mike, Peggy's husband. We (Chrissy, Leslie, Jenny and I) had a good time visiting with him. When the race started Leslie, Jenny and Chrissy and I stayed together for about 2 minutes. Then they were all ahead of me. I wasn't trying to set any records because I felt lucky to even be running the race. After the Riverton 1/2 Marathon I wasn't able to run for over 3 weeks. I was only able to do one long run of 10 miles before the race. I tried to keep a steady pace of 10 minute miles. When I got to the downhill part and knew it was going to be a long race when it didn't really feel like downhill to me. When I got to the 12 mile mark I knew I would make it, but the last mile was extra hard. I even had to walk once for about a minute. When I got to the finish line I guess I was pretty tired because two people hung onto to me as I was about to faint and took me to the medical tent. I felt okay after about 10 minutes. I wanted to get back to our hotel so we didn't miss our free breakfast. Chrissy finished in 1hr 44 mins, Leslie and Jenny finished in 1hr 54 minutes with Leslie coming in about 10 seconds after Jenny.  I finished in 2hrs 15 mins.   The rest of the day I really felt tired and a little bit sick.

Nancy, I'm so glad you were okay!! I hope it was just fatigue and the time off from running!! It sounds like you had a WONDERFUL time with your girls! I wish I could've met all of them. I wish I had as good of a relationship with my mom...My sisters and I are VERY close, but my mom...well, some morning when you have 10 miles I'll explain all of that :)

Your girls are so fast and you all did a great job! For feeling so YUCK and still finishing in 2:15 is GREAT, especially considering what you've been through since Riverton!! Have a great recovery and we'll see you soon, how soon depends on when I can get back to running :(

Great job to you and your girls, all of that AND you made it back in time for breakfast!!! You have had a rough time as of late, that is awesome that you were able to still participate and do so well.
