Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

2010

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Riverton 10K

MS 100 Mile Bike ride finished in 7 hours

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running, biking, swimming and stay fit until I'm 100 years old

Personal:

I'm married, have 8 kids (7 daughters and one son) and 28 grandkids. I have a great supportive husband.  The grandsons and grand daughters are now tied at 14.  I have 2 grand daughters married and one going on a mission to Australia.

I got to the SJ Soccer fields just after 5am and ran the 5K course.  By the time I got back the others were there for the regular miles.  We ran out to 2200 and then north to Rustic Roads.  I ran up Rustic to 2700 and then turned around and headed back so I could get ready for work.  After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises.

I rode my bike on my usual 10 mile course.  It took me 3 extra minutes because I hit all the lights.  It was a good ride.

Met the group at the church on 102nd and 40th west.  I was the  only one there so I ran around the park across the street.  I ran around 4 times and it took me 26 minutes so I think I went 2 miles.  When the otherss got there we ran north on 40th west.  When I got to 98th I turned east and ran to Bangerter and then turned around and headed back.  It took about 27 minutes so that made another 2 miles.

My granddaughter Rachel and I went to the Run GR8 5k.  She is way faster than I am.  We both had a good time.

Met the group at Riverton High.  I was a little bit late for the early miles but I did the usual route throught the subdivision.  For the regular miles we did the same course that I did on Saturday with RUN GR8 but they kept going to 114th and I turned at 118th and headed back the school so I could get to work.

I only had time to ride 4 miles after work because I had a dentist appointment.

I met the group at a park in Day Break.  We ran up through Daybreak. I got lost and even lost my sense of direction.  I eventually made it to 118th and then was able to make it back to the park.

The race did not start on time so I sat in the RUN GR8 bus for about a half an hour.  We ran part way up  Parkway Palisades and I went slow and steady.  On the way down I was able to pass a few people.  I ran steady the rest of the way.  I don't know what my time was because I left before the results and I forgot to look when I crossed the finish line.

I met the group at the church on 102nd and 40th west.  I was the only one there.  I ran south to 106th and back and then I saw Peggy and Mike.  They crossed the street and started running at the park.  I crossed and ran at the park also.  After the rest of the group got there we ran north to 98th and then west past the Glenmore Golf course.  I turned around just past the gold course and headed back. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups.

I met the group at the West River Front Park.  Mike and Peggy were there.  They went to check out the cemetary course for the regular miles so I ran to 114th twice and back and then around the park a couple of times.  For the regular miles we ran around the park once and then took the dirt road in back of LIfeTime Fitness up to the road that leads to the cemetary.  We stopped at the down hill and started an 1 mile run down the road to the cemetary and around the cemetary.  They did the route 3 times and I did it twice.
