Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I used the spin bike for 45 minutes after work and a short nap and then I started my arm weight exercises.  Then I remember that it was one of my granddaughters birthday so I stopped and we went to visit her.  I will have to finish my arm weight exercises tomorrow.

I went early for the early miles and Kris was already there running.  I followed him and ran north on 2700 and when he turned around I did.  Then we came back to the parking lot at Riverton High and ran around the parking lot.  When the others came for the early miles we ran through the subdivision and then back to the parking lot where we picked up Michelle M. and then ran north to the street that goes west past the Riverton Seminary and then went to where the street turns and we turned around and headed back.  The group kept running around the school parking lot but I headed home.  It was a good run.

I went early for the early miles and Duke and I ran out to 13th west and north past two streets and then headed back to the church where the group was meeting.  I ran past the church and around the parking lot.  Mike was there and so was Michelle C.  We started off and ran out to 13th west when we saw Cheris turn into the street to the church.  The others headed back and I said I would keep going and they could catch up with me.  Duke and I ran north past the church and then west over the canal and then south to 126th and then east to 13th west.  The others didn't catch up but when I started north on 13th I saw their head lights and they were coming my direction.  I caught up with them and they turned around and we continued north past the street we parked at and into the next subdivision.  We ran around the loop and then turned around and headed back.  The others were there for the regular miles.  I said Hi and then headed home.  It was a good run and Duke and I enjoyed it.

I didn't run 20 miles, I ran 10 and biked 10.  I do not know how to separate them.  I met the group at Julie's at 7am this morning.  Before the run I took Duke on a short run.  There were about 5 other people at the run.  I started off before the others but it only took a few minutes for them to catch up.  We ran north trough the subdivision and over past 118th and then to 114th where we turned west.  By then I couldn't see the group but I kept a slow and steady course. I  ran west to 3200 west and then south to 126th.  When I was at 118th I called to wake Leslie up.  Then I kept going south to 126th and then east to the street by McDonalds and then on to Julie's house.  No one was there but Carissa's car and one other car was still at Julie's.  Leslie was there now too.  I took off my warm stuff and we headed out.  We went backwards through the subdivision and out to 126th and then west.  Leslie wanted to go 4 miles.  She has a GPS watch so we went west to the street where the house she is buying  is on and turned north until be got to the house.  We stopped for a minute and looked around and then continued on through the subdivision until Leslie's GPS watch said 2 miles and then we turned around and headed back.  It was a good run.  Then I came home, cleaned up and got ready for our Valentines party.  Some of the grandkids and and 5 of my daughters along with Ben and Kent came.  We had lunch and then decorated Valentines cookies.  We also put Valentines in each box.  It was fun to see everyone.  Then I had a nap and got my bike ready to meet a women from my ward to go on a bike ride.  We rode from her house to 13th west and then south to Bluffdale and out to Redwood road and back.  It was a good ride and I had a nice visit with her.
