Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Long-Term Running Goals:

Personal:

I did my leg weight exercises and stomach exrcises.  Then I did pushups but was only able to do 50.  Then Chrissy took me to lunch for my Birthday.  We went to El Farol and it was deliscious.  This afternoon I swam at Marv Jenson's.  I swam 25 laps front crawl and wasn't even dead.  I could have gone more but my family was coming over to celebrate my Birthday.  It's hard to believe I could really be 60 years old.

Met the BBK's at Bingham for the early miles and brought Duke.  We were in front when we started out but Duke had to stop and wet on a tree so we ended up at the back.  After the early miles I took Duke home and came back to run on the track.  I ran 1 mile on the track and then we ran down to Rustic Roads and ran up and down and then back to the school.  I thought we were going to do it twice and since I was so far behind, when I got to the school I saw that everyone was starting again so I turned around and ran the course again.  I thought they would be passing me anytime but they didn't so I kept going and ran back to the school.  Some of the people were just getting back.   Some people in the group were staying for another 1/2 hour but since I came early I was tired so I went home.  I was very glad my foot didn't hurt.  After dinner Leslie and I rode our bikes down Redwood to 118th and then up to 40th west and north past the temple to 106th and then up to Day Break and around the lake and back.  It was a good ride but I wasn't too tired.

Met the bunners at the Rec Center.  Today Dean and I were the only ones that came.  We rode our usual course and had a good ride.  My daughter Jenny and 5 kids are coming to visit and we are having a potluck dinner and then going to Day Break to swim.

My daughter Jenny was here from Idaho so we met the group at the SJ soccer fields at 6 am.  My foot hurt the first 1/2 mile so I started walking and told Jenny to go ahead.  Kris Bullock was walking too because she didn't feel well.  After about 1 minute I started jogging again and my foot didn't hurt after that.  I was very tired and slow it took me 31 minutes.  On the second time around we went backwards and when we got to 2700 from Rustic Road we turned around.  It was a good run and I was very tired. My wonderful daughter Leslie was supposed to join us, but she slept in and ran later. She seems to have wake up issues in the morning. Perhaps she needs 50 alarm clocks that all go off at the same time.Duke has a sore foot so he stayed home and cried at the door. We hope his foot feels better soon.  After dinner Leslie and I rode our bikes.  We went down redwood to 118th and then started up towards 2700.  It was sooo windy we could hardly pedal.  We turned around just before 2700 and headed back home.  That was the most windy bike ride I have ever taken.

I got up and went to the temple and then came home and did my arm weight exercises.  After I cleaned the kitchen I took  a short nap and went swimming.  The first 10 laps were hard, but after that I seemed to get in a rhythm and the  the next 20 seemed a lot easier.  Then I tended Ralphie's baby while she took her kids to the fair.  Then I went to Cub Scouts.

Leslie and I went to our Triathlon class a South County Pool.  When we got there the pool was closed and there was only two other people there.  We found out that Ryan our teacher was gone doing a triathlon.  Leslie and I got our bikes out and rode for 12 miles and then we drove home and ran 3 miles.  The biking was easy for me but the running is always hard.  Running 3 miles now feels like running running 10 used to feel
