Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Long-Term Running Goals:

I did my leg weight, stomach exercises and I only made 70 mens pushups.  Then I did some cleaning and went to the Webelos Day Camp.  After I got back from day camp I took a short nap and then picked the rest of the apricots.  My daughter Jenny's RS President is coming to town and is going to bring her the two boxes of apricots that I picked for her.  I was going to go swimming, but after picking apricots I was too tired.  After dinner Kent and I went to the South Towne Expo Center to look at the floats and vote for our Stake Float.  There were lots of nice floats and boy are they a lot of work.  I'm sure glad I wasn't in charge.  I only had to help for two hours.

Met the running group at Bingham for the early miles.  Duke pulled me along, but I was still very tired.  It's a good thing I only stayed for the early miles.  Then I came home, had breakfast and a bath, cleaned the kitchen, swept and scrubbed the kitchen floor, folded laundry and then went to Day Camp again.  We don't really do that much at Day Camp, but I sure fill tired when I get home.  Monday we did Artist, Boats and swimming and today we did Showman, BB guns, Geologist and Archery.

Dean, Michelle M and I were the only bunners today.  We did our usual course.  The only thing unusual was that Michelle got a flat as we turned onto 98th South.  Luckily she had a tube and pump so we pulled over and Dean showed us how to fux a flat.  After dinner Leslie and I went to our Triathlon class.  We swam and then biked, then we decided not to run because it was 95 degrees.

Met the Group and the parking lot at Walmart.  We ran from there up 114th to State Street and then stopped and regrouped.  We ran up 114th clear to 13th East.  It was two miles and all up hill.  The last block was very steep.  I had to walk for about 30 seconds even with Duke pulling me.  When we got to the top the group was going to run to 110th south, down to 10th East and then back up to 13th East.  Rachel, her sister and I decided just to run down to 106th So. and then back.  Then we regrouped and ran back down 114th to Walmart.  Boy was I tired.

I did my arm weight exercises and then rode my bike to Christine's and back.  It took me 20 minutes to get there and 21 to get back.  The way back seemed more up hill or else I was just tired.  It is 5 1/2 miles to her house from mine.  Then I cleaned up and we went to Tooele to visit our Daughter, son-in-law and grandkids.  I brought them some fruit leather and bows for all the girls.  A friend of mine made bows for all my granddaughters.

Duke and I went to Leslie's at 6 am this morning to run with her.  She took Duke.  My foot started hurting the first 100 yards but I kept going.  It's been hurting me off and on for about a month and ususally feels better after about a 1/2 mile.  After about a 1/2 mile my foot was still hurting and my knee was too from trying to compensate for my foot, so I decided to walk.  Walking didn't hurt so I would walk for a while and then try running again.  The running kept hurting every time so I just walked fast.  I turned around at Sky Drive and headed back towards Leslie's.  When I got to Leslie's I couldn't see her coming back so I kept going up the hill towards the temple.  When I turned around and headed back Leslie was past her street and heading towards me.  I'm glad I at least got some exercise.  When I got home I ate breakfast, cleaned up and went to help someone in the ward move.
