Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

2010

Riverton 1/2 Marathon  3rd in age

Daybreak Triathlon 1st in age

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running, biking, swimming and stay fit until I'm 100 years old

Personal:

I did my arm weight exercises and in the afternoon I swam.  I made it 10 laps front crawl, took a short bread and made it 10 more laps front crawl, then I did 10 laps backcrawl.  The backcrawl is so easy I could do it forever.

Met the group at Bingham but I didn't go early because I didn't bring Duke and I knew I wouldn't make it 1 1/2 hours running without him.  We ran around a few neighborhoods and then came back to the track.  I was behind everyone and had to take a few shortcuts, but I made it.  I was very tired at the end.  I need to run more without Duke so I can get used to it.

Met the biking group at the South Jordan Rec Center.  It was cloudy and cool, but we didn't get rained on.  We did our usual course.  I enjoyed visiting with Amy.  When we got to the top of the hill by the temple Dean adjusted my seat.  He said it was a little too low for me.   Thanks Dean.  After dinner Leslie and I swam laps.  I made it 10 laps front crawl, took a short break, did 8 laps front crawl, took a very short break and did two more laps front crawl.  I didn't have time to do any more because I picked up 4 of my grandkids who were sleeping over.  Two other grandkids were dropped off by their mom, so I have 6 grandkids sleeping over.  The youngest is 9 years old, so they won't be any trouble.  Tomorrow we are going to "This is the Place State Park," because it is free.

Met the group at the church on 98th and 2200.  I didn't get there for the early miles, but I was a little early so when the group got back I jogged around the parking lot with them until it was time to go for our longer run.  We did some strides in the parking lot when Cheryl got there and then we ran up 9800 past Glenmore Golf Course and down the hill and up the other side.  I had Duke pulling me and I still got very tired.  Leslie and I turned around at the top of the hill and she took Duke on the way back.  Debbie caught up with me on the way back so I had a good visit with her.  I was so tired by the end I was glad Leslie came back for the last 1/8 of a mile I took Duke and he pulled me to the end.  Lately running makes me very tired.

Did my leg weight exercises along with my stomach exercises and 80 mens pushups.  The pushup weren't quite as hard as last week, but I'm not ready to add any more.  After I cleaned up I went to the temple and saw Kelli there in the waiting area.  This afternoon I am going with my Webelo Scouts to an Outdoor activity.  It lasts from 2:20-8:30 and I sure hope we don't get rained on.

I ran with Leslie and Chrissy this morning.  We ran our 6 mile course to the South County Pool and back.  Leslie took Duke.  Chrissy made it 1 1/2 miles and her knee started hurting so she turned around.  I was a little way behind Leslie and Duke, but I made it the 6 miles in 58 minutes.  It was a good run.  Then Kent and I went to our Stake's Independence day Breakfast and program.  The food was good and the storm held off until the middle of the program.  We got rained on some but not too much.
