Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

After breakfast I cleaned the house, transplanted some flowers in the green house and did my arm weight exercises,  then I went with Kent to look at a job and pick up some plans.  When we got back home I had a nap, did more cleaning and indexing and then I made dinner.  After dinner Leslie and I went swimming.  I swam 20 laps.  I didn't have time to swim any longer because we were going to the "Reflections of Christ" are display for family night.

I met the BBK's for the early miles.  I kept up for the first mile but after Duke stopped three times I was quite a ways behind after the first 3 miles.  By the time we started the next part of the run I was already tired.  We did a mile warm up and then regrouped.  We ran down to Rustic Roads and then did our 5K course and then ran back.  I was so tired by the time we got to the hill that I was even behind Rachel who is pregnant and still running.  By the time I got back to the school I was so tired I could barely run.  At least I made it 7.5.  Maybe if I keep doing longer miles it will get easier.  After work and a short nap I used the stationary bike for 30 minutes.  I will sure be glad when the weather is warm enough to ride our bikes outside.

I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 pushups.  I have scouts this afternoon so I made dinner in the crock pot.  Leslie has to go to a wedding reception so we are not swimming or biking.

Met the BBK's at the church on 102nd and 40th W.  I started out in the lead because Duke gets so excited but by the time we were 1 mile into the run I was fading back fast.  Duke stopped several times to use a  bush.  By the time we met the group for the main workout I was already tired.  We headed south on 40th west towards the temple.  I was dreading running up the hill and back but the group stopped on the street that leads into Leslie subdivision and we regrouped and did a loop around the neighborhood instead of going up the hill.  I was very tired and glad Rachel wasn't going too fast.  After the first loop I had to leave.  I was so tired I barely made it back to my car.  After work and a short nap I used the stationary bike for 30 minutes.  It's warm enough weather to ride bikes outside but I have a Stake Women's Conference that I am helping with at 5pm and Leslie has a R.S. meeting after work.

Leslie and I jogged 3 miles while she held Duke.  Then we went on a long bike ride.  We rode from my house to Redwood south to 118th south and west on 118th up to the Bachus Highway.  We turned left and rode up the hill to the entrance to Kennecott and then we rode back home.  It took an hour and 5 minutes on the way up and about 35 minutes on the way back.  I had to go slow so Leslie could keep up so I didn't get out of breath at all except on the big hill and I went ahead of her and didn't wait for her until I got to the top.  On the way back the wind was really blowing and it was cold.  By the time we got back we were both frozen.  I made breakfast for us and then took a long hot bath.  Now we are going to Cassie's(granddaughter) baptism.
