Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

 

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running, biking, swimming and stay fit until I'm 100 years old

Personal:

I'm married, have 8 kids (7 daughters and one son) and 28 grandkids. I have a great supportive husband.  The grandsons and grand daughters are now tied at 14.  I have 2 grand daughters married and one going on a mission to Australia.

I used the elliptical for 15 minutes and then I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups.  I was sick for several weeks so I have not done weight exercise for 3 weeks and was very sore the next day.

It is too cold and snowy to run outside so I used the elliptical.

I was finally able to run outside for the second time this month.  I love running outside so much better than and exercising indoors.  I took the day off work so I can get a cortisone shot in my trigger thumb.

I used the elliptical.  I have not been able to run outside much this winter.  The weather has been so bad and our gruop has not been meeting.  Without Duke I cannot go before work in the dark by myself.

I met the run group at the SJ soccer fields.  I went a few minutes early and ran up and down the street and then when they got there we did the 5K course.  Then I went to work.

Today was the first time in about a year that I was able to run 6 miles.  I ran from my house up to 118th and then east to redwood and then from 118th to 126th and then up to my house.  I was tired but not dead.

I met the group at Hobby Lobby.  Michelle, Jackie and I were there.  They passed me in a few seconds and then about 5 minutes later Becky came running up and asked if I knew which way they went.

I met the group at Riverton High School.  Only Peggy and Becca were there.  We ran through the subdivisdion and then through the next one.  Then I went home, got cleaned up and went to work.

The group was suppose to meet at Bingham but I was the only one that came.  I ran 4 miles and then headed home.

I ran my 4 mile loop and then I rode my bike to Leslie's and we rode our 8 mile loop.  We are training for our Triathlon.  I have also been swimming a couple times a week.  Swimming laps is way harder than running and biking.  Leslie thinks swimming is very easy.  She goes twice as many laps as me and is not tired after.

I met the group at the parkway trail at the bottom of tithing hill.  It was cool this morning and the run was beautiful.  I really enjoyed it.  I came home and ate breakfast then cleaned the kitchen.  Then I did my arm weight exercises.  Today was the first time since my shoulders and back started bothering me last year that I was able to do the full sequence with all the weights.  I am glad that I can get back where I was.  After dinner I swam laps with Chrissy and Leslie at the South County Pool.  Chrissy and I do not really Love swimming but we are training for a Triathlon.  Leslie loves swimming and is very good at it.
