Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Daybreak Triahtlon 2010 1st in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

 

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

MS 100 Mile Bike ride finished in 7 hours

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running, biking, swimming and stay fit until I'm 100 years old

Personal:

I'm married, have 8 kids (7 daughters and one son) and 28 grandkids. I have a great supportive husband.  The grandsons and grand daughters are now tied at 14.  I have 2 grand daughters married and one going on a mission to Australia.

I met the group at the church on 124th and 13th west for the early miles.  I was the only one there for the early miles.  It was snowing but it was not sticking to the ground yet.  It did the 2 mile loop through the subdivision and then ran back to the church.  It was not quite time for the regular miles so I ran back and forth past the church.  There were 8 people besides me for the regular miles.  We ran down Tithing Hill to the parkway trail and started north.  It was a blizzard and the snow was coming from the north so we turned around and headed back up the hill.  When I got back to the church I headed home to get ready for work.  By the end the snow was really sticking and I was even starting to get cold.

I went to the RUNGR8 run with Leslie.  It was cold but not as cold but it was 20 degrees.  Leslie was running 7 with Christine so I started out early.  It was already starting to snow.  The first mile going south was a little bit cold but when I turned east it wasn't as bad.  The snow was not sticking at first but by the time I turned east it was so I had to walk a couple of times.  I made it back to RUNGR8 and I almost fell down in their driveway.  When I got back they told me I had enought miles(100) to get my Tech shirt so I got it and I really like it.

I ran 3 miles before work.  After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exrcises.

My foot started hurting alot at work.  I barely made it through.  When I got home I iced it.  I thought I would have to go to the doctor but after my nap it was feeling a little better.  I started taking relafen.  I didn't do any exercise.

Today I used the spin bike for 20 minutes and then did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups.  My foot is not hurting today.

I met the group at Cheris's house for our annual Christmas Eve run and breakfast.  It was a beautiful day for a run.  I got to visit with Eric while we ran.  Thanks Cheris for the nice breakfast.

Met the group at the West River Front Park.  I went extra slow today whenever I saw any ice because tuesday when I took my son to the Dr.  I slipped on some black ice and hit the back of my head.  I didn't slip today and it was a good run.

I went to the RUNGR8 run but I only did 3 miles because my siblings were coming to my house for a party at 11am.  I ran the whole way with another woman that was as slow as me.  It was nice to visit while we ran.

I met the group at the church up the street.  I went a few minutes early because I wanted to make sure I got in 5 miles.  The weather was just perfect.  After breakfast I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups.
