Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

 

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

MS 100 Mile Bike ride finished in 7 hours

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running, biking, swimming and stay fit until I'm 100 years old

Personal:

I'm married, have 8 kids (7 daughters and one son) and 28 grandkids. I have a great supportive husband.  The grandsons and grand daughters are now tied at 14.  I have 2 grand daughters married and one going on a mission to Australia.

I rode bikes with my husband this morning.  We rode 3 miles.  Then I came home and picked tomatoes and made salsa.  Then I rode bikes with my son.  We went 10 miles.  Then I came home and cleaned the house and took a nap.

I was just getting ready to leave for running group when I got a call that I needed to be to work a 6am so I only had time to run 1.5 miles.  After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups.

After work and a short nap I was going to go on a long bike ride.  When I went to get my bike the back tire was flat.  I pumped it up but I was worried that it would go flat while I rode so I only went 4 miles.

I did not go to run group today because I had to be to work at 6am.  After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 14 mile course.  It was very hot.

After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 17 mile course.  I got a good workout.

Met the group at the church on 102nd and 40th west for the early miles.  I was early so I ran down 102nd for about 5 minutes and then ran back.  When I got back Peggy was there and we went across the street to the park and ran around the trail.  I kept getting sprayed by the sprinkler so about the 3rd time around I went to 106th and then ran back on the sidewalk.  I still got sprayed.  The next time around I turned around and went the other way so I missed the sprinkler.  For the regular miles we ran south on 40th west.  The group was going to 114th but I needed to get to work so I turned around at the top of the hill by the temple and headed back.  After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises and then I picked beans.

I met the group at the park across from LIfetime Fitness.  I was the only one there at first so I ran around the trail around the park.  When Peggy got there, she Aaron and I ran on the parkway trail.  For the regular miles we ran up and down the Hill at parkway pallisades.  It is a long steep hill. Luckily I had to get to work so I only had to run up and down once.

Leslie and I went to the RunGr8 run.  We did the 5 mile course.  Then we went home and changed and picked tomatoes and plums.

I rode my bike on my 10 mile course.  Then I came home and took picture of the stuff I got at my storage auction and listed them on ksl.

I met the group for the early miles.  I ran south on 40th west and then back to the church.  When the others got there we ran around the park across the street and then up the big hill on 102nd.  For the regular miles we ran south on 40th west.  I turned around at the top of the hill by the temple and the others continured to 114th.  I had to be to work at 7.

I met the group at Riverton High for the early miles.  Peggy was there early so she and I started on our usual course through the subdivision.  After we had gone about a quarter of a mile she turned back to get the others.  I kept going.  When I got about 3/4th of the way around the block it felt like I had a rock in my shoe.  I stoped and shook out my shoe and then started on again.  It still felt like something was poking the heel of my foot.  I ran easy on that foot back to the school and sat in my car and took offk my shoe.  I could feel something very sharp poking though the heel of my shoe.  I could not get it out so I decided to be done for the day.  When I got home I could see that I had stepped on something sharp and it had gone through the heel of my shoe.  My son pulled it out wiht his needle nose pliers.

After work and a short nap I went to the temple.  Then I had time for a short quick ride around the block.  Then I ate dinner and my husband and I went to the prison to teach our ARP class.

I was feeling very tired on my run today.  I ran with the Run GR8 group and did my usual 5 miles.

I met the gorup at the SJ Soccer fields.  I went early and did the course once and then when the rest of the group got  there they were doing a 6 mile tempo and I only had time to run 2 more miles so I ran to Rustic Road and up and back. After fork and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises.

Peggy was the only one at running group early miles and I talked to her for a few minutes as we ran.  She turned north on 3200 and I kept going around the block.  I my second time around I saw Peggy coming back to meet the others for the regular miles and told her I was just going to run around the block again.  After I went around the block the second time I headed home to get ready for work.  After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups.

Since it was raining after work I used the spin bike for 20 minutes.  I sure like biking outside better but winter is coming so I need to get used to the spin bike.

I went to the RunGR8 run and did the 5 mile course.  I don't know if it was because the weather was cool, but the run was a lot easier and I didn't feel dead at the end.
