Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

 

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running, biking, swimming and stay fit until I'm 100 years old

Personal:

I'm married, have 8 kids (7 daughters and one son) and 28 grandkids. I have a great supportive husband.  The grandsons and grand daughters are now tied at 14.  I have 2 grand daughters married and one going on a mission to Australia.

Today as I ran I thought of my sweet Duke and how much I loved him and miss him.  He loved running even more than I did.  I am so grateful that I had him for almost 10 years.  He was the most handsome dog I ever knew and had the sweetest personality.  I know he is happy now running with a healthy body.

I rode bike with Christine.  We did our usual 12 mile ride.  I only gave her a 45 second lead at the top of the hill on 114th.  I caught her at redwood road.

I met the group at the church on 98th and 2200.  Only Peggy and Cheris were there.  I talked to them before they started and then saw them at the end.

I did my 12 mile bike ride around the block.  I rode fast and did it in 40 minutes.  It was a good ride.

I ran by myself today and did the 3.25 mile block.  I am learning to run without Duke but I sure do miss him.  I am grateful for the almost 10 years I had with him.

I used the elliptical for 10 minutes, the exercise bike for 10 minutes and the treadmill for 10 minutes.

I used the treadmill 10 minutes, the elliptical 10 minutes and the weights for 10 minutes at the condo.  I am at my sisters get away having lots of fun.  We went to the Olympic Park and did the zip lines, the alpine slide the ropes course and the extreme tubing.  I had lots of fun and got a ton of exercise.

I ran up 126th up to 3600 west and then back past Riverton High and then out to 126th and back home.  It was a nice run but I still miss Duke.

I rode my bike on my 12 mile course.  That night  Christine and  I went swimming at the South County Pool.  We decided we better start training for the swim part of our Triathamom.  Neither of us really like swimming but we made it 4 laps with a rest after each lap.

I met the group at West River Front Park.  I was able to stay the whole time so I went 4.5 miles.  After I came home and ate breakfast I did my Leg Weight/Stomach exercises along with pushups.

I did not get to sleep until almost 12pm so I slept in until 6:15 and then went running.  I ran from my house up to 3600 west and back.

Saturday morning I ran 5 miles for the first time in about 5 months.  I still miss Duke but I am learning to run without him.  I was slow and steady but I made it.

I met the group at the park across from Life Time Fitness.  We ran along the parkway and I was able to make it 3.4 before I had to head home and get ready to go to work cleaning lockers.
