Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

 

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running, biking, swimming and stay fit until I'm 100 years old

Personal:

I'm married, have 8 kids (7 daughters and one son) and 28 grandkids. I have a great supportive husband.  The grandsons and grand daughters are now tied at 14.  I have 2 grand daughters married and one going on a mission to Australia.

I was off work today to go to a funeral.  I did my arm weight exrcises and some cleaning before the funeral, then I took a nap and went to my granddaughters wedding.  They were both nice.  I am not running for at least a week so my foot will feel better.

After I went to the temple this morning I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my pushups.  Tonight after dinner I rode bikes with Shannon.  We went 10 miles and it was fun.

I went on a 1 mile walk with Duke.  My foot hurt the whole time.  Then I used the elliptical.  My son and I went to Olive Garden for lunch and then to the Hunger Games.  They were both very good.

I went to TRX class with Shannon and then we rode bikes.  The class works your arms and legs alot.   We rode out bikes out to 13th west then south to 126th and then east into draper.  Then we took the frontage road past IKEA and then past the prison.  We rode south from there and then took 3600 west back to 118th and then to Redwood road and home.  We went 22 miles.  Shannon rides slower than I do but I was glad to have someone to ride with.  I had a good time and got lots of exercise.

I took Duke on a 1 mile walk.  My foot didn't hurt today.  Then I did my arm weight exercises.

I met the BBK's at Bingham for the early miles.  Duke and I only ran 1.5 miles and my foot hurt some so I decided that was good enough.

After work I went to the Dr.  He confirmed that I had tendonitis in both feet.  I got some new orthodics and prednisone and I can't run for two more weeks but I can ride a bike. When I got home  I rode the spin bike for 30 minutes.

It was too rainy to bike outside so Shannon and I went to her work and used the spin bikes.  We rode 31 miles.  It wasn't as fun as riding outside but it helped to have someone to talk to.  It took us 2 hours.

This morning before work I used the Elliptical for 15 minutes.  After work and a short nap I rode my bike on the 6 mile route.  I really enjoyed the ride and got my heart rate up.  It took me just over 20 minutes to ride the 6 miles.  Then I did my arm weight exercises.

After work and a short nap I used the spin bike and did my leg weight/stomach exercises.  I didn't do my pushups because I hurt my shoulder yesterday while I was carrying a 5 gallon paint bucket.

Before work I took Duke on a 1 mile brisk walk.  After work and a short nap I used the spin bike.  Then after dinner I spent the rest of the night at my daughters painting.

I ran with Duke this morning for the first time in two weeks.  My foot only hurt the first few steps.  It felt so good to run again.

I ran two miles with Duke this morning.  We both enjoyed it.  Then I rode bikes with my friend Shannon.  We rode to the prison, through Bluffdale, back to South Jordan then to Daybreak then past the lake, down to 40th west and then north to 98th, east to 2200 then south to 118th and then west to Redwood Road and home.  It was a nice ride and the weather was beautiful.  Then I changed my clothes and headed to Leslie's house.  I helped her fill the dumpster and then came home at took a nap.  After my nap I went back and helped her paint her house.  Boy am I glad we are done.  I have been helped every night for the past week.

After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises.  Then after dinner I bought some new running shoes.  Then tendonitis in my feet is finally feeling better so tomorrow I am going to running group.

I met the group at the trailhead on 98th.  Duke and I got there early and we ran for 10 minutes until the others got there.  Then we ran south on the parkway past 106th and then turned around and headed back.  Then I had to leave because I had to be to work at 6.  It was fun to run with the BBK's again.  My foot felt pretty good.

After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 mile run. It took me just over 21 minutes.  I got a good workout.

Duke and I went early to meet the BBK's at the Riverfront park so we could run a mile before they got there.  Then I ran 2 miles with them before I had to be to work at 6.  After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups.  Just taking a week off from pushups makes them so much harder.  I did 50, took a 30 second bread and then could only do 25 more.

This morning I rode bikes with Shannon.  We went 40 miles.  We started on Redwood Road and 114th and rode north to 98th and then east to 13th west and then south to 126th.  Then we went east to the frontage road by the freeway and went past IKEA and then across the road to the prison, went around the prison and then west to Bluffdale.  When we got to Redwood Road we went south past Camp Williams and continued South past the Lehi cross roads and continued until we got to a road the went west to Eagle Mountain.  We turned north before we got to the big hill and then went north until we got to the road that takes you to Cedar Fort and then headed east back to the Lehi crossroads and then north on Redwood to 114th.  It was a good ride.  I wasn't too tired because I went a little slower for Shannon because she is not in as good of shape as I am.  Then I spent the rest of the Day with my 8 grandkids that are spending the weekend.  We went on a 3 mile walk down to the fish ponds and then around to the play ground and back.

After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 miles course.  I did it in just under 22 minutes.  Then I did my arm weight exercises.  Then my husband took me to Texas Roadhouse for dinner for our Anniversary(our 41st).  It was good.
