Running Accomplishments:

I've been running for the past 25 years.  I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then.  I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons.   I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35.  I won Thrid Place in my age group.

Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon.  They did great and I was glad to just finish.  I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.

I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die.  I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.

We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons.  Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak.  I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

2010  Riverton Half Marathon 3rd in age group

South Jordan Half Marathon 2010 1st in my age group

Riverton 10K 2010 1st in my age group

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010  Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group

March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

 

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

My daughters and I are starting to train for Triathlons, but would still like to run 2 half-marathons and 5K's and 10K's

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running, biking, swimming and stay fit until I'm 100 years old

Personal:

I'm married, have 8 kids (7 daughters and one son) and 28 grandkids. I have a great supportive husband.  The grandsons and grand daughters are now tied at 14.  I have 2 grand daughters married and one going on a mission to Australia.

Leslie and I ran 6 miles in the snow.  We started at Ralphy's house just off 126th and 50th West and headed north through the subdivision.  We crossed 118th and ran through daybreak north for a while and then turned east for a while and then north again.  We ran for 33 minutes and then headed back the same way.  My foot didn't hurt and I really enjoyed the run and the visit with Leslie.  I am so glad my foot didn't hurt because I really love running outside.

After work, a short nap and visiting teaching I used the spin bike for 15 minutes and then did my arm weight exercises.  I got a very good workout.

Duke and I met the group at the SJ Soccer field for the early workout.  We got there early so I could run some before the others got there because I wanted to make sure that I could get in the 3 miles before work.  It was a good run.

 Duke and I went early to meet the group at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple.  We ran for 15 minutes and then went back.  Mike was the only person that came to the early miles so we ran together for a while and then I got a  phone call and it was Eric who wondered where we were.  We were headed back to the temple so we picked him up and headed out again.  We went the other direction past the temple and then I had to head back to go to work.  It was a good run.

This morning the group was meeting at Riverton Park at 7:30.  Since I only had time to run for 1 hour, I ran to the park to meet the group and then ran back with them on my way home since they were going the same direction I needed to go.  They were running the Riverton Half Marathon route.  I would like to have run it, but Kent and I had to be at the Prison for our ARP meeting at 9am.  It was a good run.  It was very chilly running south to the park because it was very windy.  On the way back it was just right.

This morning I went across the street with my husband Kent to run around the field.  It is about a quarter of a mile.  He had a knee replacement last February and the other knee scoped.   He wants to run the Riverton fun run so he is just starting out.  Then after I did some cleaning I went to Leslie's and ran 3 miles with her.  It was very chilly running north because the wind was coming from the north, so after we ran that way past two streets we turned around and went the other way.  It was a good run.

I went to the church on 114th an 3300 west to meet the group for the early miles.  Apparently the rest of the group is whimpy and thought it was too cold because I was the only one that came.  I ran until it was time for the regular miles and still no one came.  I got a good run in and wasn't too cold.

Met the group a little early for the run.  Duke and I ran down the street and then  back to see if anyone came.  No one came so Duke and I ran down 13th west almost to 114th and then back.  I talked to the others when they came for the later run and then hurried home to get ready for work.

I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups.  I did 50 pushups, took a 5 minute break and then did 50 more.  I also used the stationary bike for 10 minutes.

This morning I met the group at Julie's house at 5 am.  I only went 2.5 miles with Julie, Cheris and Michelle because I was running with Leslie at 7.  I was very glad I changed into shorts and a tank top because it felt very warm to me.  My thermometer said it was 48.  Leslie and I ran through the subdivision across 118th and up to daybreak, around the lake and back the same way.  It was warm going north and was glad I had on shorts and a tank top.  On the way back the wind was blowing hard and it started to rain.  By the time we got back I was getting cold.   Leslie and I went 7.5 miles.  It was a good run and I was very tired and cold at the end.  I came home and took a long hot bath.

Met the group at the SJ library for the early miles.  I got there a little early and started running.  Kris was there and was running too.  Then Carissa came and we started out and half way down the street we saw Michelle coming to we headed back and met her and Cheris.  We ran down the road to the end then turned around and ran back but turned east on the street before the Library and headed down to 13th west.  Then we turned around and headed back to the library.  It was perfect running weather.  If I had stayed for the later mile I would have taken off  all my warm stuff.

I went early for the early miles at running group and ran until Michelle got there, then we started off and saw Cheris coming so we went back.  We ran the loop through the subdivision and then ran on the parkway trail.  It was a good run.

After work and a short nap I used the spin bike and then did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my pushups.  I need to use the spin bike alot until it is warm enough to ride outside because I signed up for the Goldilocks 60 mile bike ride.

I met the group at Bingham for the run.  I started out early and they caught me by the time I got to 9800 south.  About 5 minutes later Kris Bullock and Debbie Kroll caught up and passed me.  I kept it slow and steady and ran up 98th, over Bangerter and past the Glenmore Golf Course.  Then I kept going on Sky Drive down the hill and up the other side and then kept going past the park, around the park and then up Sky Park Drive and then I eventually found Sky Drive again and headed back.  When I had 3 miles to go Leslie called and said she would run 3 more miles with me when I got back.  I got back to Bingham just behind Kris and Debbie and a minute later Leslie pulled in.  She and I ran south to 114th and back.  I was quite tired but glad I made 11 miles.

Met the BBK's at the Parkway trail on 98th.  I went early so Duke and I could run a mile before the others got there.  We ran up the hill to 98th and then west to 13th west and then back.  Mike, Kris and Nancy R came for the early miles.  It was quite chilly (22 degrees) but I was warm by the time the others got there.  We ran north on the trail until we got to the end of the trail and then turned around.  Then we went past the parking lot and headed south.  I left before the others started back because I needed to be to work by 6am.
